Types of Carpets

On the market a wide range of carpets, different textures, fibers, styles, colors and sizes. Even carpets are made to order, with the design and the desired colors. For a good choice is necessary to know some basic details. First, differentiate the different classes of carpets.

Moquette
We called moquette or carpet to carpet perimeter wall to wall fitted, covering all surfaces of the room, the floor carpet itself, which is topped with a small socket on carpet or wood also.

Modular or tiles
These modules based small rubber mat, placed creating the appearance of a moquette, but in less time and effort. Some bring PVC adhesive layer which makes it easier placement. They are ideal for areas that require any future access to telephone and electricity facilities. In case of damage, stains or wear, you can easily replace some modules without having to lift the entire floor.

Folders
Backed rugs are classic ground, limiting areas or creating spaces in any room and any other kind of floor. They are used, for example in the bedroom, to avoid contact with the ground under a cold or furniture assembly highlighting a specific area, as well as decorative object, such as focal point, to the decoration or character groups elements.

Carpet Textures

As the treatment is made with thread form various patterns or textures of carpet.

Bouclé Plain
Small wire hooks or rollers compact and aligned at the same height. Are easy to clean since the dirt remain in the surface. Do not mark the footprints and are ideal for high-traffic locations such as stairs, children's rooms, etc..

Structured Bouclé
It is characterized by Boucles of varying heights, generating different reliefs and offering a different aesthetic variety to bouclé smooth, but with the same benefits.

Cut Hair
Texture is soft, easily recognizable by sight velvety appearance, product layer and cut hairs stand like Boucles cut ends. The price and quality vary the number of threads. The hair will be more fluffier, tough and costly.

Type Frieze (hair cut)
Cut pile carpets are but has a special fixing process in the twist of the yarns. It is a short twisted hair (curly) that makes it more durable and very suitable for busy areas, reducing the marks of footsteps.

Combined
You can also get patterned carpet texture combinations, alternating bouclé and hair cut, or different levels of the same texture. Even some varieties incorporate small pieces of materials (wood, leather, etc..).

Some Ideas for Choosing and Maintenance

• Be aware that the quality of carpet is also given by the density, I mean the amount of fiber tows per square inch. Note the density and weight per square meter of yarn which is generally indicated in the catalogs. The greater weight of yarn or raw material, or greater density, better performance. If you compare carpet based on the weight, make sure you are comparing similar materials.

• Always ask if less resistant carpets have special treatments. Some are very good and used to better respond to stains, insects or to make them more resistant to water or moisture.

• If you need an environment with good sound insulation are best carpets. For best results we can place a carpet pad, eg polyurethane foam.

• Whenever you install a new wool carpet, use a vacuum cleaner to remove immediately the wool fibers or "fluff" that are skipped during the manufacturing process.

• For proper maintenance should clean the carpets vacuumed daily. Use the vacuum as often as desired. Dirt and dust-usually abrasive particle content-sandy, shorten the life of the carpet.

• Remember to perform a dry cleaning, conveniently with professionals, once or twice a year.

• If you find your hair has crushed carpet, due to the weight of the furniture or excess traffic, should support a hot iron there, placed between the carpet and the iron a damp cloth, taking care not to crush the hair but wetting the carpet. Immediately lift the hair brush going against the grain.
